About our Guest instructors 😀

Kiki grew up dancing afrobeats, zouk, soukous, coupé-décalé, and traditional dances from Togo (West Africa). He fell in love with kizomba in 2013, and after taking many workshops, privates and teacher trainings with top national and international instructors, he finally started teaching in 2016. Over the past 6 years he has traveled throughout the US and Canada to share his knowledge of Kizomba/Semba and Afrobeats.

Lauren is a lifelong dancer with a deep interest in the history and culture of Africa and the African Diaspora. She has been learning kizomba since 2016 and teaching since 2019.

Together, Kiki and Lauren are ready to bring their shared knowledge and positive energy to a dance floor near you!

About our Guest DJ 😀

Mathieu Koto aka DJ Mathieu. Was born and raised in Senegal to parents from Guinee-Bissau and Benin. Mathieu grew up listening to the sounds of Carribean Zouk, Kompa, Congolese Rumba, Salsa among others. He started DJing in 2014, in part to play more of the songs he was connected to and felt could be better danced to.

Passionate about all things Kizomba, Dj Mathieu knows how to get the party going and is looking forward to spinning the hottest Kizomba, Semba, Tarraxinha, Carribean Zouk, Kompa, Afro, Salsa, Bachata…

Fun fact: Mathieu loves to dance kizomba just as much as he loves Djing…
